Blessings in disguise

Blessing 1

Shell interview --> We regret to inform you that your application has been unsuccessful.

Okay, say I got the job, then I'd probably have to work under a specific somebody I know... and I would have an annoying boss.

Blessing 2

Eupho 09 --> 4th and 5th place

Say, Capoiz & TE won 1st and 2nd place (in no particular order), then I would have won so much money that I'd probably spend it on some ridiculously unnecessary things. Most importantly, I have learned that eventhough we lost, we can still party like winners!~

*Whatever pun, aku nak gak main lagu Power Rangers tuuu!!! GRR!*

Sore losers. Haha~ XD

Combo of Capoiz, Tomorrow Ends and BandJamen

Tomorrow Ends

p/s: Great Capoiz Day Out guys. Dpt tgk teknik baru membaling bola bowling. *ehem* XD
TE bila pulak??

Blessing 3

Schlumberger interview --> Question : What is your favourite country and why? Answer : Malaysia;*multiracial; peaceful; stable politic...bla bla* Interviewer : Anything else? Me : Um.. give me 1 sec... um.......................... Oh wow!... *blank* Interviewer : *smiled and chuckled* Is that all? Me : Yeah, I guess that's all. (-_-') 3 pm later that day...--> name not listed

Say, I got through all stages, I'd probably had to toughen up under all the work pressure and wouldn't be as charmingly sweet and lovable anymore. =P Unlike Little Miss Sunshine. =D

Hmm.. Takde rezeki lah katakan..
Happy & Enjoy~

Panic attack!

Argh, I am back in UTP. My mid sem break is cut short because of bloody FYP. My family bising because I couldn't stay home longer. Including my nephews. One of them even said, "Mak Su tak nak kawan kite lagi ke?" These kids do know how to manipulate. Hmm.. Look at that.

Little terror -_-'

Anyway, I had a Shell interview last Tuesday. Funny story, I left my folder of certs & proof of accomplishments (accomplishments la sangat) on my UTP desk. I only noticed this when I was at LCCT, dropping of Mr. Nash to catch his flight to KK. You can imagine how petrified I was. I shed some tears, hit my head on the dashboard for (dramatic effect), for being so careless. I was already thinking of the worst, really. In the midst of my emotional outburst, I came to a decision to go back and get my certs, by hook or by crook. Well, it's actually more likely by bus or by car. At first I was to take a bus back to UTP on my own, but then I managed to sweet talked my cayang to drove me all the way back (tee hee), expenses covered by yours truly. So, after a night's rest at his cuz's, we head back to that evil place.

Suraya and Apik (Hud's cousins) tagged along, keeping it an enjoyable ride. So enjoyable that we made a spontaneous visit to Kellie's Castle. We were stinky and tired, but it didn't stop us from running around the castle, taking tons of pics until the camera ran out of battery. The castle was eerie.. especially when some of us decided to poke our heads in the wine cellar. Even worse, some of us suggested we shone a torchlight in that dark room *cough*. Seriously, there was some spooky vibe coming out of that room. *shivers*

"Sweetie, I know this place is depressing but please don't jump"

"You jump, I jump"

The heavier jumps higher. Nuff said.

Some light reading

We finally reached UTP, freshen up, pray, collect my certs, then head back to KL. Tiring. Whew.

Fast forward to the day of the interview at Shell House, I was sleep deprived and stoned. Thank goodness I entered the room and managed to do my best. Except for the last question; which I think I didn't answer. Heck, halfway through me answering it I suddenly couldn't even remember the question. Plus, my tummy did a sing-a-song in the middle of the interview. Great. I thought eating breakfast would make me more nervous, but I never thought it would cause other problems. I am hoping, but not keeping my hopes too high. I found out that out of the 24 who did the in campus interview a week before mine, only 1 got it. Owh, well..

After the interview, headed back home; Muor~. Home sweet home! =D Home feels sooooo great. I never want to leave home. I would chain myself to Mak so that I can always kacau her. Hehe. But it was too short.. =(

Stupid work. Bah.

Updates updates

It's been awhile since I update this blog as the internet connection here in UTP SUCKS.

Some random things I have been up to lately (not according to importance):

1) Song searching.

Euphonius preparation.

Tomorrow Ends

I wrote the score sheet for violin part for Faizal Tahir's Sampai Syurga.. I improvised here and there, and it sounded alright. String part is awesome! The other song is Michelle Branch's Game Of Love.

The Capoiz

Since they kidnapped me and asked me if I would join their band, A+ plus for effort. =P Songs to practice are Faizal Tahir's Mahakarya Cinta (Faizal Tahir lagi) & Stevie Wonder's version of For Once In My Life. Love the jazzy feel of Stevie Wonder's.

2) Books

Stephen King's Cell

Okay, Mr. King never fails to disappoint me. This is definitely a must read. You will never look at a cell phone the same way ever again. If you like King's Desperation; you are likely to love this one.

Stephanie Meyer's New Moon

Owh, I have also started reading the Twilight sequel like a few days ago. Sadly, it's awful. I am sorry for saying this but Bella needs to stop whining and move on from being so self absorbed. I can't bring myself to finish the book as Bella's constant 'problems and self-wallowing' bores me to death. Bring Edward Cullen back! =P

3) School

FYP II

Started my lab works. The experiments went okay.. but not so sure of the relevance of the equipment and results. Unfortunately, my project was on hold since my SV will be gone for the whole week last 2 weeks. Haha. Will be seeing him tomorrow.

Mandarin

Next test is cominggg.. How hard can it be?

"ni jiao shenme ming zi?" "wo jiao Shareena." "ni hao ma?" "wo hen hao." "lao shi, nin hao."....

...etc

OCM

Test was this afternoon. Argh, dunno what I hentam in my paper. It was definitely full with answers, but I hope the GA buys my crap and give me at least half a mark. =/

Strategic Management

Last week's test was interesting. We all sat pretty close to each other and copied each other. Oh, and of course, it's because the test was done in class with normal seating.

Marine Pollution & Control

Site visit this Friday (13th March 09). Off to Penang to see the level of water pollution there from a construction site. Heard it's really bad.

4) Job Interviews

Scientige

The first supposed job interview was on the 14th of February by Scientige. Got to go to the talk, and I figured that the company needs someone like me for their team (right!), I was already so excited, waiting for my slot, which was in the afternoon, and found out that it was postponed due to the large turn out.All sessions from 3 pm onwards are brought forward to another day. Hurm.

Ranhill Bersekutu Sdn. Bhd.

It was officially my first job interview experience. I was the first candidate to go. My interviewer was such a nice man that he instantly made me feel comfortable the moment I walked. There was no stress, just chit chatting. I joked a bit, told him my strong points, exaggerate a bit here and there. It went well. But my majoring made him assume that I am more interested in Oil & Gas. Owh well. Here's hoping.

Shell

Just confirmed the appointment. Praying really hard for this one! I have someone to prove to that I can and will work with Shell. Grrr.. Putting my war face on. I want this SO bad. I'd beg if I have to.

That's pretty much it for now. I'm trying to go through everything with a smile on my face, and hoping to get what I want, because I always get what I want. Hehe. =D

Friday the 20th

Friday morning. 5th week of semester. I'm typing this from my bed still under the covers, thinking about what to do today. So, the plan is:

1) Send Little Miss Sunshine to bus station.
This time we will be good; not abduct her and send her all the way to a secret location like last time.

2) Go to bank.
Money's a-running out. Fast. Money is the root of all evil.

3) Back to room.
Movie perhaps? Or assignments? I am in such a predicament.

4) Do some research on some songs.
Eupho task. I'm not really into it as none of the songs I like. It's no fun playing songs you 'dislike' (hate is too strong).

5) Dinner plans (maybe)
Sick of the food here. I miss my mum's cooking. =(

6) Karaoke-ing
This will go down ok if everything goes well at the bank. =P

Oh shoot, I can actually feel the boredom seeping inside my pores.

Low-carb Blog

I was looking through some dieting reviews. (South Beach Diet, Hollywood Diet, etc)

I read through the infamous Atkins diet which is kind of like a low-carb high-protein diet thingy.

No rice (gasp!), bread, nuts, fruits, sweets or any other kind of carbs for 2 weeks!

Yep, I am trying to lose weight since I've been a bit "soft" on the outside if you know what I mean. I wouldn't say I will be dieting.. maybe I should put on my trainers and workout, laziness is hard to beat though. Hmm.

Plus, I love food too much!

Maybe I should try go Atkins and see how long it'll last..

Here's to working out more and eating right for healthy weight and healthy heart. *sigh*

CNY Holiday~ Part II

24th January 2009

Finally, it was the day for a long journey from PJ to JB. Since we were going straight to the wedding, we put on our best baju kurung/kebaya and make up. However after 4 hours in the car (a 6 hour journey conveniently cut short by my bro-in-law's driving) we were only thankful that we still looked half-decent.

Like any other Malay wedding, the heat was barely bearable and the food was as always, great. My whole family was there!~ yippee~!

Sadly, Kak Na had to leave since there is another family affair (he
r husband's) in Nilai. I was kind of sad because of our short meeting.

The rest of us checked in into M-suite Hotel just across Danga Bay. Only after a few hours settling in, me and the kids went to check out the swimming pool and went for a swim. There were slides and a whole lot of screaming involved.

That night we went to Danga Bay for dinner.

Me and mak

The food wasn't that great though. Guess we probably have picked the wrong kedai.

25th January 2009

The next morning, we had breakfast at the hotel. Now, this time, food was great. I ate whatever that fits inside my tummy. =P

Ayah

With Ariel and Sirhan

After breakfast, me and the kids went swimming; again. Until it was too hot to stay outside.

Then, we checked out of the hotel and headed back home.

Me and the kids =D

I'm going back to UTP tomorrow. Back to business. =P

CNY Holiday~ Part I

22nd January 2009

Yeay, CNY holidays~ apparently I think I was more excited than my Chinese friends who are going home to actually celebrate Chinese New Year. I couldn't wait to meet my family~!

I went home with Hud as usual, but this time! we had company. The company unfortunately must not be named to protect some parties (mostly hers =D). Let's call her Little Miss Sunshine (LMS) for now.

The original plan was to send LMS to the bus station on our way back but we insisted her to ride with us as we were going home to the same place. She finally gave in and we gave a hearty loud cheer. Our only regret was that she had to 'burn' her bus tickets, but we hoped we made the ride home worthwhile for her. ;)

The ride home went by so quickly as we yakked away talking about random things. Just so you know, this is the first time LMS ever ride home with us so we definitely did not waste time with boring naps in the car. We stopped at Tapah for food and Baskin Robbins (yum2) before continuing our journey. By the time we reached KL, my throat was slightly sore and I was pretty tired. I guess it was the same for the rest since everyone seemed to tone down and relaxed a bit. After dropping off LMS at a secret location, we continued on home.

Moving back a bit, just right after we passed the UTP gate. I texted my sister living in Kota Damansara that I was on my way. It is my routine to stop by her house before following her back to Muar; which in this case, we were going to attend our cousin's wedding in JB, where I will meet the rest of my family. She called me about an hour later and asked me where I was at. She paused for a few seconds before revealing that she won't be sleeping at her house tonight but will be staying at my bro-in-law's family house in TTDI. She hesitated when she said this, and I straight away understood that it was totally out of her hands. She just had twins 6 months ago and I understood how tough it is to move around with 2 babies. So, I told her it's alright and said that I will call her back. After that phone call, I turned to Hud and asked if I could crash at his cousin's house in Puchong for one night. It has been awhile since I visited them and I really do want to catch up with his family, especially when his sister was also there. I made a few phone calls namely to my Mum, Kak Jaa again, Hud's sister and cousins, and after getting everybody's consent, it was decided that I was to stay in Puchong for one night.

That night was a lot of fun, we played Monopoly with Kak Zura as the ultimate winner, beating us with probably RM50 000 more. The game ended when everyone was pretty much tired, so we decided to turn in for the night, but not before a short meal (supper/breakfast?) of bread and sardines (credit to Suraya for the trouble). When everyone was safely in bed, I lied down trying to sleep, but the sardine had somehow got my adrenaline pumping, so I joined Kak Zura with a crossword puzzle thingy (sorry, can't remember what it was) and we chit chat for a bit until we were both tired enough. It was around 5:40 am.

23rd January 2009

The next day, after dinner with Hud's family, I was sent to TTDI to see Kak Jaa. I figured that she probably need me with her kids and her things before going to JB the next morning.
